This project is an exploration of camaraderie, accumulated memory, and sentiment through materiality—expressed via handmade paper. Developed during a material studio course, the work reflects a personal habit I formed at 20: collecting receipts from social outings. What started during a romantic relationship evolved into a quiet ritual that spanned three years, gradually filling a shoebox with small records of shared moments.
Drawn to the transactional nature of receipts and their power to mark time, I used them to reflect on the fragile, fleeting quality of memory and relationships. Two-thirds of the receipts were pulped and transformed into the paper’s base, dissolving into texture and material. The rest were preserved and embedded within the paper, retaining their original form as visible fragments—traces of connection, nostalgia, and time passed.
